Nadakkavu police on Wednesday held IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty's relative and industrialist KM Abdul Rauf in a fake currency case. Police earlier arrested two persons in connection with the case. Police conducted raids at Rauf's office and home.

Two more accused were arrested by the Special Investigation team (SIT) from Coimbatore in the case relating to
the brutal attack on college lecturer, T J Joseph, whose right hand had been hacked by a radical outfit, Popular Front of India (PFI).

DGP Jacob Punnoose said that if Karnataka police demands the state will extend all help to question Madani's security guards. But till now no such demands were made. He said investigations are on about Thadiyantevida Nasser's visit to the Popular Front office.

The NIA special court has declared Shammi Firoz, accused in the Kozhikode twin blasts case, as an approver. The NIA has not objected his request to turn an approver. The Court also asked Shammi not to socialise with other accused and destroy the evidence.

As per the information given by the accused in the Muvattupuzha lecturer attack case, the probe has been extended to Thejas daily too. The police diverted the probe route to the daily as some of the accused used mobile number registered in the name of the daily. When quizzed the editor of the daily this regard, he replied that all such things are related to the management.

Police on Friday held one more person who was present in the group which attacked the lecturer in Muvattupuzha. Shamsudhin from Perumbavoor was held. He told police that there were 7 persons in the group.

A new born baby was sold for Rs 5000 at the Thiruvananthapuram SAT hospital and later the mother took her back. The mother from Kadakkal sold the new born with the help of a temporary employee.
