The Dalit Human Rights Movement chairman who was arrested by police from Vadakekkara in Paravoor yesterday would be produced before Varkala Court today in connection with the murder of Shivaprasad in Varkala.
Yesterday, the aluva police had brought him to Varkala to collect evidence.
The police were on the lookout for Selvarajan, the chief organiser of DHRM.
The DHRM had been initially floated as a charitable organisation. It had succeeded in raising resources from among the members of the Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe colonies where it worked. The outfit had also vanished from some colonies in south Kerala, after mobilising money from the local people. After the Varkala incident, DHRM chairman Selvaraj and another leader, Thathu, had gone into hiding.
